They don't make 'em like they used to

I just rewatched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I have a copy in a box, which I assume is now deep underneath my parents house, but I hadn't watched it in a few years. So when I learned of Paul Newman's death, I went about downloading it. I can say without any doubt it is still one of the best movies ever made. And what can I say about Paul Newman. He was gorgeous, but he never went the route of the pretty boy actor. He never took easy roles. His characters were smart, rebelious, cocky, but always with a tinge of self-awareness. I look forward to rewatching Cat on a Hot Tin Roof sometime soon, and maybe The Sting, or Cool Hand Luke, because they really, really, don't make 'em like they used to.

I would add The Hudsucker Proxy to that Paul Newman list, if you haven't seen it yet and if you like the Coen Brothers' movies. It's Marty's favorite.

I don't like movies with sad endings. The Sting is better than Butch Cassidy. Sorry.

I've never seen The Hudsucker Proxy. It's been added to the list.
Karen, Butch Cassidy isn't exactly sad. They are the bestest friends ever, even when they are totally screwed and should be yelling at each other. Think of it as a best friend movie and watch it again.
But I'm a sucker for the tragic ending, so what do I know?
